Introduction
Shannon Donnelly (SD): All righty. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Fully Managed Podcast, the podcast where we discuss marketing and business tips to help assist you on your business journey. I’m your host, Shannon, Penji’s Partnership Coordinator, and I’m joined here today with Geetha Priya from Seven Eagles. Thank you so much for coming on with me today. I really appreciate it.
Geetha Priya (GP): Yeah, thank you. Thank you for the warm welcome. I appreciate that. It’s great to meet you as well.
Geetha’s Career Journey
SD: So could you start by telling us a little bit about yourself, your work, and kind of how you got to this point in your career?
GP: Okay. So, as you said, I’m Geetha Priya Srinivasan from India. Currently, I’m pursuing my MBA while working. I initially started my career as a social media marketer at Seven Eagles. I joined as an intern, and that journey was unforgettable. Within ten days of internship, I was offered a full-time job because of my performance. It was originally supposed to be a three-month internship.
GP: After about a month, I got promoted to Head of Content Marketing. The role involves content curation, ideation, and client communication. We target audiences in the US, Canada, and domestically. It’s been a wonderful journey and one I’ll never forget.
SD: That’s really beautiful. I think that’s always the best thing to hear, especially in marketing. It can be all over the place. Wearing many hats is something I completely understand.
Content Marketing and SEO Authority
GP: Content marketing is a pillar of business visibility. We strategize content based on audience behavior and service needs. We specialize in SEO. If you search “best SEO company in Chennai” or “best SEO expert in India,” you’ll see our founder. We’ve built that authority.
SD: That’s incredible. So you went from intern to full-time in ten days. What advice would you give to someone hoping to achieve that?
GP: Before starting in marketing, I graduated in electronics and communication. I worked remotely as a technical consultant for a year, but it didn’t feel right. I realized I was always on social media in a productive way. So I took every free course I could find, especially HubSpot. That was my guide.
GP: I practiced on my own—writing posts, editing videos, creating graphics—after work. When I started pitching to clients, they asked if I had experience. But how do you get experience without clients? So I decided to apply for internships in startups, not big companies, because I wanted transparency and learning opportunities.
GP: I applied directly to founders. The Seven Eagles founder interviewed me even though there was no job opening. I was honest—I had no experience, just what I had created on my own. He gave me a chance.
GP: I created a carousel post about an oil company, and it hit one million views in three days. That was my first success. Then I worked on a high-profile doctor’s Instagram, requested a proper shoot to increase video quality, and that post also hit one million. Within a month, I became Head of Content Marketing. I believe in perfection, self-learning, and taking initiative.
SD: That is so incredible. It’s a testament to how hard you work and how intelligent you are. And about startups, I completely agree. You really learn the ins and outs of a business, which you can’t always do in a big corporation.
On Startups and Patience
GP: Yes, someone needs patience. In my team, I handle hiring for graphics, video editing, and content writing. Many people switch companies quickly to get higher salaries, but they don’t realize that staying and learning is more valuable. Social media tells them otherwise, but they need to think about long-term growth.
GP: We also teach financial independence at our company. Our founder, Ashkar Gomes, always says it’s the most important thing you can earn. Every Friday, we used to post financial lessons on LinkedIn—stocks, mutual funds, saving strategies. We even have another platform, Fincare, where we post finance blogs. We’re planning to release products too.
GP: Our mission is to help people achieve financial independence and to create 100 entrepreneurs who care about people, planet, and profit—the 3P system. We want our entrepreneurs to respect the environment. We even plan to plant trees along roadsides. We focus on profits but also on impact.
SD: That’s wonderful. Financial literacy is so important, especially for young people. We had a brief class in high school, but most people didn’t understand the basics. Your initiative is powerful and rare in agencies. I love that you care about the planet too.
Women Empowerment and Financial Growth
GP: Everyone looks for short-term growth, but they need proper analysis and long-term thinking. Our employees are earning 2x their salary through investments. Most of them are women. We’re providing job opportunities for women in rural areas by helping them form content teams. That project is already in motion.
SD: That is so wonderful to hear. I didn’t know about all these initiatives from Seven Eagles. It’s amazing that you care about helping others while also growing the business. Doing good work can still be profitable.
GP: Yes, we aim to be productive and impactful. We’re looking for talent and I believe Penji will be a great platform for that.
SD: Absolutely. And marketing keeps evolving. There’s always more to learn. That’s my favorite part of the podcast—I get to learn from every guest. I didn’t go to college for marketing either. I studied political science.
GP: I can relate. You meet founders and industry experts—it’s like free education. I want to start doing that too.
One Witty Post a Day
SD: Your LinkedIn tagline says “one witty post a day.” Do you think it’s important not to take yourself too seriously? And do you have a favorite post?
GP: Yes. I love using idioms and metaphors to explain marketing concepts simply. One post I made during Ganesh Chaturthi imagined Lord Ganesh as a marketer selling moti ladoos. People found it funny and relatable.
GP: I mix funny posts with informative ones—my journal entries, marketing myths, facts. The “witty post” idea is about making content easy to remember. I haven’t had time to post lately because of hiring, client work, and our new product. But I miss it a lot.
SD: That’s okay. Posting regularly is hard with a packed schedule. But I love that you make marketing fun. It’s supposed to be engaging. People connect more when it’s fun, not just all business.
Platform-Specific Psychology
GP: More than fun, marketing is psychology. If you understand your audience, your product will win. Each platform tunes your mindset. LinkedIn is professional, Instagram is fun. Same user, different behavior. So we must adapt our content accordingly.
SD: One hundred percent. Some people post the same thing everywhere, but you need to tailor it. Different audiences engage differently.
Final Thoughts and Advice for Young Professionals
SD: Unfortunately, that’s all the time we have today. I really learned a lot and I appreciate that. Do you have any final thoughts you’d like to share?
GP: Yes. For anyone pursuing content marketing or any career—start learning on your own. Don’t wait for paid courses. Don’t chase perfection. Practice on your own profile. Share what you learn.
GP: At the same time, learn finance. Saving money won’t grow it—invest it wisely. Build multiple income streams. Eventually, your passive income should exceed your active job. That’s true financial independence. Then you can decide whether you want a job or not. That’s our goal at Seven Eagles—to help others achieve that.
SD: That’s such good advice. Thank you so much, Geetha. I really appreciate you being here.
GP: Thank you, Shannon. This was such a comfortable experience. You handled it wonderfully. I’ll definitely share this with my team.
SD: That means a lot. That’s exactly what I hope to create here—a fun, comfortable conversation. Thank you so much. And thank you to everyone for watching. Don’t forget to like and subscribe to see more stories like this. Have a lovely day!
