[Fully Managed] Jorge Ortiz from Venditi Ep. 150

Welcome and Guest Introduction

Host: Hello everybody, welcome to the First 100 podcast. This is the podcast where we explore the journey of entrepreneurs, business owners, agency leaders and so many more people as they share with us the challenges, the triumphs and all of the situations that have led them to secure those first 100 customers. I’m very excited because today we have a very special guest.

Guest: Hi there.

Host: Hey, how are you?

Guest: Hey Daniela, thank you for inviting me.

Host: Thank you so much for being here. I’m very happy to have you on the podcast today. For all of the listeners and viewers who are not familiar with you, what you do, who you are. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and about your company and all that?

About the Guest’s Business

Guest: Yeah, absolutely. My name is Warrior, co-founder of Vendita. Basically what we are is an insurance technology platform, they call it insurtech here in America. Basically, we help insurance agents secure their calls and sell more insurance. What we do is take the summary and transcripts of their phone calls, put it into a platform, and create a follow-up email based on the conversation.

Guest: We nurture that client or prospect until the client responds. So we create kind of a specialized insurance agent for the insurance agent. Many insurance agents aren’t doing a great job following up because they don’t have the time. Our platform helps them achieve more response rates and revenue growth.

Guest: In fact, we’ve seen a lot of success with our beta testers. On top of that, the platform allows users to ask any questions regarding insurance—what is a policy type, how to insure your house, regulations—we curated that information so they can train better and get information from a reliable source. And that’s the platform as of now.

Value of the Platform

Host: That’s amazing. I think for anybody who’s worked in corporate, especially in sales and marketing, regardless of the industry, we all know how time-consuming and difficult follow-up can be. Not because it’s hard, but because once you’re overloaded with work, there’s less time to do it. Personalized emails for each prospect take time, and I think platforms like yours are really helpful for people doing a lot of outbound and cold outreach.

Guest: Exactly. A lot of our users have a hard time tracking details. Sometimes you’re talking to clients who don’t just have one property or auto to insure—they have several. So it’s hard to keep track of every detail. Our platform does a great job highlighting those key points and making sure everything is included in your notes—and in your follow-up email.

Host: Wow. Yeah, for sure. When you talk to so many people, you forget the details. I’ve made mistakes early in my career like calling a client John when his name was Jason. So bad.

The Founder’s Inspiration

Host: What inspired you to found this company? It’s a niche product—CRM for insurance companies. What experiences led you to believe there was a gap in that market?

Guest: Absolutely. I lived that problem. I used to work as an insurance agent and sales consultant for other insurtech companies and startups. I noticed people had problems following up and annotating conversations. So when I quit my job, I decided to solve that problem.

Guest: We launched Vendita in July. When I left, we had nearly 100 users. Right now, we have around 120 users testing the platform. We’re launching version 2.0 next week, which is exciting.

Getting the First 100 Users

Host: So you’re fairly new to the industry. The podcast is called First 100, so I’m curious—how did you get those first users? Business owners always have interesting stories about how they got people to sign up.

Guest: Absolutely. When we started thinking about the idea, I talked to a technical co-founder. He had experience, so we started whiteboarding. I also interviewed people—some inside insurance, some outside—to understand their problems.

Guest: I joined an accelerator in California, and they helped guide us into the insurance vertical. I reached out to people I used to work with to be my first beta testers. That’s how we got our first 10–20 users. Then they started referring others. We grew to about 120.

Guest: Some users are outside insurance and just use it for note-taking. But the majority use it for follow-ups and sales. Others use it to extract policy information from calls. Our search is powerful—you can ask, “When did Daniela ask me about the company’s founding?” and it’ll show you. It’s a huge time saver.

Host: That’s so helpful. I’ve spent so long scrubbing through podcasts just trying to find a specific answer or moment. A system like that would be amazing.

Expansion Plans

Host: You mentioned interviewing people outside insurance. Do you plan to expand to other industries in the future?

Guest: We’re a pre-seed company, so for now we’re focused. But in the future, we want to expand to Spanish-speaking countries—starting with product and claims management. The U.S. market is competitive, but in Latin America, there are fewer players. Our goal is to become the dominant platform in those regions.

Ethics and Privacy in AI

Host: AI is growing fast. How do you ensure ethical use, especially around personalization and predictive analytics?

Guest: Great question. We’re not a CRM—we empower CRMs. We don’t store sensitive data. Our AI focuses only on the outcome of the conversation, not on private details. We train the model to ignore things like social security numbers or credit cards.

Guest: Our platform integrates with Gmail and Outlook via Google and Microsoft, which adds another security layer. We use Stripe for payments, so we don’t store financial data either. We also avoid identity numbers. We built it as a sales enablement tool—not a data repository.

Host: And what about navigating legal requirements? Did that shape your business model?

Guest: Definitely. We don’t handle policies or sensitive data directly. Our tool helps with communication and sales while ensuring compliance—like reminding agents to say “This call is recorded.”

Guest: We measure how many questions were asked and answered to help with next steps. We’ve built it to avoid legal issues from day one. We’re meant to be your assistant, not your policy handler.

Benefits for Insurance and Beyond

Host: That makes sense. I do think tools like yours could be helpful in many industries. I hope one day you expand to marketing and design—that’s what we do—and I think we could use it too.

Guest: That would be great.

Rapid Fire Questions

Host: It’s been great having you today. Before I let you go, let’s play a quick rapid fire game. I’ve got 20 silly questions. I’ll set a timer for one minute. The record is 13. Let’s see how many you can answer.

Guest: Let’s do it.

Test it as long as you want. If you like it, great—you’ll be working with a team that’s just getting started.

Host: Amazing. I’ll add the links in the description. Thanks again, and to everyone listening—we’ll see you on the next episode.
